Joy Daniels band

I'm down at city hall plaza in Boston listening to an awesome band fronted by Joy Daniels

Playing a funk/rock fusion, Joy brings a high energy performance. Singing original songs dealing with everything from love to social issues, Joy really lets the listener into her head without coming off as pushy or overwhelming. Joy's original lyrics are more poetry based (in the vein of Jim Morrison or Adam duritz of the Counting Crows). She truly looks like she believes in every word she sings (hers or not).

Nowadays its seems like energy and earnestness take a backseat to cookie cutter bands whose main concern is fashion. It truly is a breathe of fresh air to see a band who leaves everything on the stage not caring about press or fashion, but just delivering an enjoyable high energy show.

The backing band is equally as energetic. They have a very tight rhythm section offering a heavy hitting drummer and a bassist laying down some funky bass riffs. The guitarist offers distorted but very tasteful guitar riffs. I would highly suggest checking this band out.
